Our March Pick...
The Rose Illuminating Glow Peel Off Mask may just be your beauty therapist this month!
There are two things I look for in my skincare:
- Simplicity
- Effectiveness
So when I first tried the ‘Rose Illuminating Glow Peel Off Mask’ by SkinChemists, I was a little wary about whether this would be an easy application (and removal) and (somewhat cynically) whether I had any ‘glow’ left in me at this point in the year!
As I’ve stated, simplicity comes first for me. I like taking care of my skin but I would never usually have the time to seek professional skincare-help in the form of facials or peels (when we could still do that in London) and the cost also played a big part in whether or not I could see myself scheduling a beauty appointment in my diary. Honestly, I also struggle with the notion that I may have to sit still doing nothing. Multi-tasking is my preferred state. If I have a skincare mask on my face, you’d better believe I’ll be stacking the dishwasher or finishing my writing while that mask gets to work.
After cleansing my face and patting dry, I applied a layer of the facemask to my skin. As the instructions stated, the more you apply, the longer it will take to dry, so I was conscious of not being too generous with the application (stacking the dishwasher twice whilst waiting for the mask to set was not going to be on the cards for me). Once the mask was on, I skipped the dishwasher altogether and treated myself to tea and a biscuit in front of the TV. I wasn’t too strict on the time because this mask does ‘set’, so though it may have been about 20 minutes, I could feel when it was ready to come off.
Peeling off the mask was quite satisfying (like a snake shedding their skin) and I made sure to rinse away any remnants in the shower. I followed up with my nightly toner and moisturiser. The first thing I noticed was that my skin felt uber soft (to the point where I did wonder how long ago I probably should have been using this product). Whilst I wouldn’t describe what I saw as a ‘glow’ I would say my face did look refreshed, plus my toner and moisturiser absorbed into my skin so well, leaving my face feeling plumped and nourished and also... brighter? I guess another word for ‘bright’ is ‘illuminated’ and as far as I’m concerned, that’s pretty much how my face looked.
On the report-card of Simplicity and Effectiveness, the Rose Illuminating Glow Peel Off Mask gets top marks in both categories. For the beauty-salon results, it is very simple to use and the price doesn’t make me feel guilty, so we’ll add some extra credit for that too.
I highly recommend you try this one for yourself and tell us what you think.
